The socket itself allows you to coil your cable inside it, minimizing the amount of cable clutter on your floor and plus gives off a blue glow when in use. You can additionally replace those rounded sockets on the ability strip in order to fit in a wireless charging accessory which should charge your device wirelessly, probably via inductive charging. Something for the future, perhaps?

AT&T customers will be pleased to know that the Palm Pre Plus and 3G MicroCell will be made available to subscribers from May 16th onwards. Unfortunately, there is no word of a free 3G mobile hotspot capability similar to that offered by Verizon, but on the other hand you can gain free access to AT&T’s 20k-strong network of fixed hotspots. We’re still waiting with bated breath for a price point at moment of publishing – how much would be the figure which you will be comfortable with? For folks who are not certain what 3G MicroCell is all about, it is a device that functions like a mini cellular tower in your vicinity, hooking up to AT&T’s network via your existing broadband Web service and can support up to four different users simultaneously.

Check out that handset from China (where else) that closely resembles the Nokia C2, although it comes with a rotary screen design which allows you to rotate it 180 degrees, revealing a half QWERTY keyboard in the process. At $79 a pop, that is worth lost out on unless you don’t mind using a really basic handset to get your conversations going in China. When we say basic, we mean it – heck, it doesn’t even come with GPS navigation capability of Wi-Fi connectivity!

Good news and poor news folks. The poor news is that Targus has just issued a product recall for half a million units of its adapters, made by Comarco Inc. The recall involves Targus’ universal laptop ability adapter with interchangeable tips. Apparently they can overheat and pose a burn hazard to folks who try to unplug it. So far there have been a good 500 odd reports of connector tips overheating and 8 cases of consumers being hurt. The good news is that whether you get in touch with Comarco you’ll get a free replacement, so you shouldn’t have to concern about that issue after getting your replacement.
