The new Joby Gorillapod certainy lives up to its primate namesake a whole lot more – particularly when it sports magnetic feet that allows you to achor your digital camera on just about any magnetic surface, something which we are certain that gorillas are able to do instead of just holding onto trees from duration to day (since they’re land-based primates). Its trio of flexible legs all come with mighty magnets on their feet, and plays nice with cameras that tip the scales up to 11.5 ounces. Fancy picking one up to capture more creative photos? All it costs would be $24.95.

You might have thought that Polaroid was done for a few years back, but now the company has come out and stated that it’s planning to enter the gaming scene, which is a big shift from its usual forte – cameras. Apparently that won’t be Polaroid’s first foray into the gaming scene, as the company offered a 15-in-1 game controller about two years back. The company now plans to offer sports packs and a sensor bar for the Wii, a microphone headset and battery packs for the Xbox 360, third-party wireless controllers for the PS3 and a dock for the Nintendo DS. Do you think that strategy will succeed? We do wish them the best of luck, though.

The MobiCam Digital wireless monitoring system comes in handy for parents who want to keep track of their littles ones at night who reside in various rooms all through the home – after all, it lets you monitor up to 3 different cameras remotely, as expanded as those cameras do not go beyond the 450 feet mark. A cordless monitor that holds a 2.4″ LCD pivoting display can run off its rechargeable lithium ion battery for 8 hours before requiring a trip to the nearest capability outlet. As for the cameras, they come with a wide angle lens that can capture as much as the space they’re monitoring as possible, while a set of IR LEDs that circle the lens lets you view in darkness up to 30 feet. The MobiCam Digital starter kit comes with a monitor and a sole camera for $189.99, where you can add additional cameras at $99.95 a pop.

The Nokla N71 cellphone is a dual SIM cellphone which features two cameras as well as a slide out QWERTY keyboard for quick and easy messaging. It comes with a microSD memory card slot and supports just two languages – simplified Chinese and English. Guess that is a China-only handset that might see action in other Third World countries for folks who can’t afford a Nokia and want to idiot others into thinking that it is one.

Very rarely does an amphibious vehicle work well, but the Quill concept by British designer Halil Buzcuoglu is touted to move on both snow and land with equal efficiency. Capable of holding a couple of passengers comfortably, that conceptual ride comes with a large windscreen that gives way to an enhanced front view, where integrated cameras offer rear view vision. A joystick replaces the steering wheel while offering an undisturbed front vision simultaneously. Guess you can only sell that in selected parts of the world whether it ever comes to fruition, eh?

There is word that the Olympus E-PS1 will be hitting the markets that June, and while it is not a high end model, it shouldn’t be a slouch in terms of performance, either, considering how Micro Four Thirds cameras are able to hold their own in any benchmark. Bear in mind that that is but a rumor at the moment, so there are still a bunch of details to be ironed out and confirmed before anything is announced as official.

Designer Terrillo Walls has come up with a rather interesting concept phone design for LG, dubbed the “Leaf”. whether the name didn’t give it away, the concept seems to focus more on being eco-friendly and it integrates solar panels into the device to charge it with sustainable energy, which will do its part to help reduce the carbon footprints of the users. The phone itself is sleek and doesn’t look like any of the current LG phones in the market, and sports both front and back facing cameras. From the looks of it, the device should be rocking a touchscreen, or else you wouldn’t have a way to interact with it. Let’s see whether that ever becomes a real device, shall we?

The RED Station is a special modular storage reader that will cater for its range of high end cameras, where you get a core base station which will supply decent juice for other stacked readers that will handle multiple card formats. For example, the CF reader will handle the most common removable storage media on RED’s cameras, while the MAG 2.5 loads in notebook-sized hard drives and SSDs. Either way, you will benefit from a couple of FireWire 800 ports and one eSATA and a mini USB port. The whole thingamajic ought to ship come April 14th, with the base station retailing for $250 while additional reader modules cost the same.

Considering Apple’s uncanny ability to come up with amazing graphical interfaces, what would it be like, whether the fruity company really put its mind to coming up with a MacBook 3D, like the concept here. Can you imagine the dock popping up at you, or something along those lines? The concept calls for stereoscopic iSight cameras, as well as a touchscreen trackpad, where it can display all sorts of useful knowledge, as well as control media functions. As 3D technology is taking off in 2010, do you think that Apple’s upcoming MacBook Pro refresh will offer 3D capabilities?
