Zhuo Nisi Technology has a spanking new 7″ netbook that will be powered by an ARM-based processor that runs at a clock speed of 1GHz which ought to be more than decent abundant for your everyday use. The display itself is touchscreen sensitive, allowing you to fold down by the keyboard to use it in a tablet anatomy factor whether that is your cup of tea. Just don’t expect it to be that versatile as a Windows-powered device, considering the Google Android operating system has yet to reach full maturity. Folks who are on a budget can always consider the standard netbook version that lacks touchscreen capability. Do you think devices like these will ever see the light Stateside, or will they remain a China specialty?

Super Talent has recently announced its latest value-for-money solid state drive (SSD) known as the Super Talent VSSD, where proud new owners of that device will be able to experience a shorter operating system bootup duration, speedier faster application loading and less capability consumption. The VSSD will play nice with a 3Gbps SATA-II bandwidth, and is capable of touching sequential read speeds up to 150 MB/sec and sequential write speeds up to 100 MB/sec. You will be able to choose from various capacities to suit your budget, where the 8GB model is going for $65 thereabouts while folks who opt for the 64GB model will have to fork out around $175 for one. While SSDs are faster than hard drives and could prove to be more stable since there are no moving parts, it is still pricier although that is now not too much a “con” as it used to be.

AMD’s latest 6-core processors are strangely affordable to the mass market, where its 3.2GHz Phenom II X6 1090T is going for $295, which is way lower than Intel’s hexa-core Core i7-980X that retails for $1,000, slightly more than triple the amount. Apart from that, AMD’s latest processor is additionally backwards compatible with most of the AM3 and selected AM2+, motherboards, making a CPU upgrade much easier on your pockets. The only issue that remains would be its performance – would you be willing to take a significantly cheaper route simply considering it suits your budget, and there is sufficient bang for your buck with the purchase?

OCZ has recently unveiled a couple of SSDs that duration round with the Vertex 2 and Agility 2, where they will be able to touch a maximum sequential read speeds of 285MB/sec and 275MB/sec for write speed, making both full well capable of performing 4K random writes at up to 50,000 IOPS on a Vertex, alongside a pretty respectable 10,000 IOPS for the more budget-inclined Agility line. Expect both the Vertex 2 and Agility 2 to ship in a few weeks’ moment, coming in capacities of 50GB, 100GB and 200GB, with plans for 400GB SSDs just right up ahead. Too poor there is no word on pricing as at press instance.
The Micro Four Thirds (MFT) standard has gotten another device to support it, as Panasonic has launched its first ever MFT camcorder, the AG-AF100. The camcorder uses an SLR-sized sensor to shoot 1080p video with the same depth of field and wide angles as you’d do with a 35mm film camera, but in a package that is physically much smaller. Another benefit of the AG-AF100 is that users will still have the option of interchangeable lenses, but it plus supports adapters to use lenses from other varietys such as Canon, Nikon or Leica. Panasonic didn’t mention the retail price of that device, but it was mentioned that the AG-AF100 will be shipping before the end of 2010, so at least we know it won’t drag till next year. Apparently the price will not be too high, as the company is targeting independent filmmakers who are generally on a tighter budget.
