If you aren’t already addicted to Facebook and Twitter, these social networking mouse pads will certainly help push you in that direction. While you’d normally check Facebook or Twitter through your mobile phone or web browser, that mouse pad has been designed to look like the status update immediate on social networking sites, giving you a constant reminder of the fun that you’re lost while working. Your boss will probably relocate that mouse pad to the trash bin whether he sees it. It’s currently going for $18.

Looks like researchers just want to delve deeper and deeper into our minds, as the folks by at Hitachi and Hitachi Kokusai Denki Engineering have unveiled their new wearable brain analyzer. While it looks rather chunky, it can be used to assist scientists at research institutes and help companies develop their marketing strategies. It’s lightweight and easy to assemble, not to mention that it offers a built-in battery and can be controlled via Wi-Fi. The company is looking to release that product sometime that year for 10 million Yen ($107,147). Are you worried that your boss might force you to wear one of these in the future, just to manufacture certain you’re thinking about work during office hours? Scary.

IDTI, additionally known as Integrated Digital Technologies, was parading their 21.5” full HD touchscreen display at the recently concluded CeBIT event at Germany. that is not a computer, mind you, but it does boast support for Windows 7 while featuring HDMI/D-Sub input. You will need to use the company’s stylus for the touchscreen to work though, somewhat similar to assured digital tablets. Would you harrass your boss to fork out $300 by the company to get you one of these?

Unless you’re your own boss, you ought to be wary of any new cellphone which the company awards you simply considering of “exceptional performance” at the workplace. Why do we say so? KDDi Japan has come up with a new method of monitoring employee activity – they use details from the acceleration sensor which is already found within selected cellphones. that acceleration sensor is able to detect simple moments such as running and walking, and when combined with an analytical server, it is capable of detecting complex moments. that lets the person in charge to know just what you’re doing (more or less) at that point in day. Good thing it still can’t detect office gossip, eh?

Word has been going around that Sony’s upcoming motion sensing PS3 controller would be called the Playstation Arc, and now THQ President, Brian Farrell, has confirmed that to the world. It came up while he was speaking during a conference shout, and stated:

“Turning to kids, family, and casual, we are focused on our continued leadership in that category, taking advantage of the lower hardware price points that we expect will attract new mass market gamers and new family-friendly platforms such as Microsoft’s Natal and Sony’s Arc motion controller.”

While it’s not an official confirmation from Sony, it’s still good to know that it’ll be called the Sony Arc. What do you think of its name?
