Unless you're your own boss, you ought to be wary of any new cellphone which the company awards you simply considering of "exceptional performance" at the workplace. Why do we say so? KDDi Japan has come up with a new method of monitoring employee activity - they use details from the acceleration sensor which is already found within selected cellphones. that acceleration sensor is able to detect simple moments such as running and walking, and when combined with an analytical server, it is capable of detecting complex moments. that lets the person in charge to know just what you're doing (more or less) at that point in day. Good thing it still can't detect office gossip, eh?

THQ Boss Confirms The Sony PS3 Arc

Word has been going around that Sony’s upcoming motion sensing PS3 controller would be called the Playstation Arc, and now THQ President, Brian Farrell, has confirmed that to the world. It came up while he was speaking during a conference shout, and stated:
"Turning to kids, family, and casual, we are focused on our continued leadership in that category, taking advantage of the lower hardware price points that we expect will attract new mass market gamers and new family-friendly platforms such as Microsoft's Natal and Sony's Arc motion controller."
While it’s not an official confirmation from Sony, it’s still good to know that it’ll be called the Sony Arc. What do you think of its name?

A live news program in Australia interview an analyst, and used a bank's control center as a background. Unfortunately, one banker was unaware of the cameras, and was caught flipping back and forth amidst spreadsheets and cheesecake with some kind of boss key. (Click through for video.)

Render Of Underwater Plane For Richard Branson

You might have previously heard that Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson was looking into getting into the deep end of the sea, and now a render of that vehicle that he’s going to use to get there has surfaced. Dubbed the Necker Nymph, the £415,000 ($670,000) prototype submersible can dive to depths of up to 130ft, though Sir Richard is hoping that it can one day explore depths of up to 35,000ft. It’ll glide like an aeroplane through the water, and can carry a pilot and 2 visitors on a two-hour trip. He plans to rent out the Nymph to visitors on Necker Island for $25,000 a week, though you’ll need to fork out $88,000 for seven-night stay on the luxury catamaran first, the Necker Belle. whether you want to get on that ride, you’d better start saving your pennies real quick, as it’s supposed to be delivered on February 20th.
