AMD Fusion processors out next year
March 11, 2010

Netbooks looks set to be here to stay for many more years, co-existing peacefully with notebooks, and that has finally caused AMD to shift gear by catering for a committed netbook processor under their Fusion range that ought to see action sometime next year. It seems that the Fusion chips will have capability consumption in the 10-15 watt range alongside decent integrated graphics performance without the need for Ion-powered graphics, all found in a device no larger than 12" in size. What do you think - will Intel and NVIDIA be quaking in their boots?

HTC Diamond2 clone dual boots
March 11, 2010

Cloned handsets these days seem to get better and better, and the HTC Diamond2 clone that you see here certainly wins brownie points with us simply considering it is able to dual boot both the Android and Windows Mobile 6.5 operating systems. Granted, the 600MHz processor might not seem to pack abundant muscle, but it still comes with a WQVGA display that ought to please some quarters. No concept on whether that cloned handset is able to construct phone calls on both operating systems, so we will just have to wait until the real deal comes out before arriving at a conclusion.

Mustek MER-6T ebook reader
January 26, 2010

The Mustek MER-6T ebook reader is ready to hit the market, where it comes with a 800 x 600 resolution black-and-white display, supporting a wide range of ebook formats such as PDF (Free/DRM), ePub (Free/DRM), TXT, RTF, FB2, PRC,/MOBI and HTML. The built-in 2GB memory is capable of holding up to 1,600 books, but good thing you can carry more digital tomes with you thanks to its expandable memory. No word on pricing or availability, but we do wonder whether other ebook manufacturers are quaking in their boots as Apple prepares the iSlate/iTablet - with all the hype surrounding Apple's rumored upcoming device, you would think that that is all the world can think about.

Apple boots app maker for fake reviews, Israel to get iPhone, and holiday iPhone games
December 8, 2009
Apple has scrapped 1,000 apps in the App Store from a company called Molinker. The removal of the apps was following complaints that the developer was posting fame reviews of the apps. The apps were mostly travel guides for various cities.

Stocks in Israel are down and in the midst of that announcement comes word that the iPhone is headed to three carriers in the country. The phone will cost users about 800 shekels or about $210 plus the plan. Carriers are subsidizing about 2,000 shekels each.
CNET has posted up a story that covers five of the best holiday games for the iPhone. I particularly like the Flight Before Christmas game, it looks cool.

Fusion carport Reveals JooJoo Tablet (ex-CrunchPad)
December 7, 2009

The green color is due to the video camera
(formerly buzzed as the Crunchpad). Let's start with the hardware and software as it is more interesting: The tablet has a 12.1" capacitive screen and can play full HD video. It runs on a web-based OS (probably a mini-Linux + Web Browser like Chrome). The tablet boots in 9 seconds and JooJoo stands for "Medical" in Africa by the way. That's a tip as of what it could be used for. It will cost $499 and the company will start taking orders soon. Units will ship within 8-10 weeks shipping from order.
The first thing that you notice is the price. You had probably heard of a $200 price before, but the Fusion carport CEO said that a $200 price for a 12.1" (capacitive) device that can play HD video is just a fantasy. As he puts it, there are "dreamers" and there are "doers". I suspect that the bill of materials is much higher than $200 anyway.
