Last week’s chatter about the imminent release of the black Nintendo Wii was spot on. The $199.99 price has been announced by resellers and has since been confirmed by Nintendo. The Black Wii will come with Wii Sports Resort and a Wii MotionPlus accessory (for games like archery) – that is like a 20% accessory + game bonus. Note that the bundles will additionally be available with the white Wii, starting on May 9th. It was about date for the black Wii to come out, as we spotted them a while ago in Japan. We were certainly sad at the news that EtherPad would be closing down its service following Google’s takeover of the company. Fortunately it seems that the furor behind the whole issue seems to have brought about a change of heart. In a new blog post by ex-CEO, Aaron Iba, EtherPad has been confirmed to be back online for the date being, and will stay online until the AppJet team can open-source EtherPad. As an additional bonus, registered EtherPad users will be getting beta access to Google Wave by the end of the month. Check out the official blog post on that here.
