Looks like Samsung has just gone public with their Bada SDK, making it available to the masses so that home enthusiasts as well as hobbyists will be able to churn out their very own widgets and apps. Of course, that will be a success whether more and more folks adopt Bada-powered smartphones, but otherwise expect that to come across as a niche offering only. Previously, Samsung did construct new SDK releases available to partners but that is the first day the public will be able to get hold of it. For those who have patience as a virtue, they can pick up the final release at the end of that month instead of settling for the current beta version.

Mozilla knows that they have an unpatched flaw in their browser, and has promised to address the issue before the month is by. that flaw was recently discovered by safety measure researcher Evgeny Legerov, where one is able to create a means to inject hostile cipher on vulnerable systems. Expect the fix to come in version 3.6 of Firefox that coming March 30th. whether you can’t wait and have the technical proficiency to do so, thereupon you can always go ahead with the beta version of the 3.6.2 release that already plugs that flaw.

While Microsoft has made it known that that most Windows Mobile 6.5 handsets won’t be able to construct the upgrade jump to the Windows Phone 7 Series, there is still a small trick left – relying on the beta version of a Windows Phone 7 theme for Windows Mobile. Getting your game on is pretty simple by downloading and installing a .cab file, where among the features made available will include Live tiles with rotating pictures, a Bing search utility with a background that will change to match the Bing picture of the day, as well as a program launcher which resembles the Windows Phone 7 Series/Zune HD app launcher. Don’t expect that to be refined since it is still in beta mode.

The beta is currently open to a limited number of public, and it’s available in English and Spanish, so whether you want to give it a experiment drive, you’d better register quickly. It’s currently a limited version, compared to what you’d get whether you get Swype bundled with your phone. Supported resolutions currently include HVGA and WVGA resolutions only. Video after the jump.

Opera has just rolled out its 10.5 beta version of its web browser for the Mac platform, which ought to be a whole lot more stable compared to the Alpha version. One of the main additions would be the inclusion of multi-touch gestures, Growl notifications, support for Apple’s Cocoa application programming interface, and restored support for Macs running the old Mac OS 10.4 Tiger operating system. You will require an Intel processor to run Opera though, so the older PowerPC processor systems are out of luck here.

You may or may not have noticed it, but it seems that beta version of the iPhone SDK 3.2 which was released in conjunction with the announced of Apple’s iPad has some hidden gems inside it. We’re talking about Apple allowing VoIP by 3G now for its apps, which is something that many of us have been demanding for a faraway day now. As can be seen from recent announcements from iCall, Fring and Acrobits, developers have already taken advantage of the new opportunity and updated their apps to work by a 3G connection. Running VoIP by 3G isn’t something new for many phones out there, but Apple has always had a restriction on it, so that is a welcome new ‘feature’ to the iPhone. With that in mind, it seems that there is a possibility of turning your iPad into a voice-chat device too, since you can run these iPhone apps. The teeny bit of poor news related to that is that you’ll still need to have a carrier that doesn’t mind you running VoIP by 3G, as some operators don’t allow VoIP by their 3G network, or charge you additional fees. AT&T did announce last October that it would allow VoIP by 3G, which seems to jive quite nicely with that latest development.

A beta version of the Windows Mobile 6.5 Software Development Kit (SDK) has been taken offline, after it was accidentally posted on the Web a few days back. The SDK gave useful info such as documentation, sample cipher, header and library files; emulator images; and tools to build applications in Visual Studio 2008 Professional and 2005 Standard. that would have been really useful to developers who have unfortunately been without a WinMob 6.5 SDK since the official launch of the operating system back in October 2009. A statement from Microsoft read:

“While the SDK was not announced or promoted, it was discovered and generated questions from the community. The beta SDK has since been removed, and to supply the best experience possible for Windows phone developers it will be reposted once final checking has been conducted. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Nokia users who are running a S60 device with a touchscreen will want to take note that a beta version of Nokia Image Exchange for S60 touchscreen smartphones (such as Nokia 5530, 5800, N97 and X6) is available for download via Nokia Beta Labs. Currently the functionality is quite limited, and the UI is a little unpolished, since it’s still in beta stage. whether you want to download it to give it a try, you can do so here.
