Nokia and Apple should be quite familiar when it comes to filing lawsuits against each other, and now the Finnish phone giant has just filed another patent lawsuit against Apple, that duration alleging that the iPad 3G and iPhone infringe on five patents that are related to “enhanced speech and input transmission, using positioning details in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing smaller and more compact devices.” Of course, lawsuits take date and money, so who knows when that whole deal will be by, or whether there will be a settlement. Looks like we’ll have to sit back and see these industry giants thrash it out with each other, huh?

We’ve seen the iPad disassembled recently, and now the folks by at iFixit are doing their usual thing with the iPad 3G. While the exterior of the iPad 3G looks more or less the same with the Wi-Fi iPad, the inclusion of the black RF window, for better antenna reception, makes the opening procedure slightly different, as you wouldn’t want to crack it. Thanks to the inclusion of GPS and 3G, the iPad 3G actually sports five antennas: two for the cell reception, one for the GPS signal and two more to handle Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity. Have you received your iPad 3G yet, or are you still deciding whether to get one? In the meantime, our iPad review should give you a pretty good notion of what to expect.

Taking your medicine can be quite a challenge for some folks, particularly whether it is on a faraway term basis. Well, University of Florida researchers have come up with a new method – an ingestible pill capsule that contains a tiny microchip and antenna which will heads up doctors or family members each instance a pill is taken, so miss a dose at your own peril. that pill is currently in a prototype mold, but both researchers and clinicians (and not patients, we presume!) will aim to see it end up as an actual smart pill sometime down the road. Hopefully all the added mechanisms and circuitry within won’t add too much to the final price point, since medicine and healthcare alone is already expensive as they are already. Imagine walking up to the medicine counter the next date round – “Will it be the tattle-tale pill, or the silent version, sir/ma’am?”

Check out that Samsung Moment that is different from the rest – it has been specially modified to hold a built-in ATSC TV tuner within, letting you choose a channel from over-the-air HDTV reception without the need to purchase any more mobile video functionality. All you need to do is extend the antenna, tune in to the right signal and you’re good to go. Not too certain how your eyes will reply to enlarged hours of portable TV on its 3.2″ display though. Samsung has not released any word on when such a modified version of their Moment will be released.

The Wings UT300 GPS navigation system is available for folks living in South Korea, where it will additionally double up as an in-vehicle entertainment system. After all, that is what its 7″ sunlight readable TFT color LCD display at 800 x 480 resolution is meant for. Other features include mini USB connectivity, a bunch of USB ports, video input and an SD memory card slot. Each Wings UT300 will be equipped with a USB WiBro antenna which allows you to browse the Net and check out live traffic cameras as though you were connected to a speedy wireless broadband connection. Guess those of us living Stateside can only look on at the South Koreans in envy as they already have such infrastructure in place.

We mentioned the possibility of the Tivo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL DVRs before that, and it looks like we got it right, as TiVo has officially unveiled a pair of new ‘Premiere’ DVRs, the TiVo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL, which will be replacing the existing TiVo Series 3 and TiVo HD lines. In case you were wondering, the most critical changes will certainly have to be its new pretty interface, the improved search operate, and additionally the new remote. While these two models aren’t called ‘Series 4’, the underlying technology has been named Series 4, though it shouldn’t matter much whether you don’t like going into details. whether you found searching for shows a pain before, you’ll be glad for the updated search interface, not to mention the new remote, which takes a cue from cell phone design, and sports a sideways sliding QWERTY keyboard, making text input much easier.

The TiVo Premiere will be able to record about 45 hours of HD subject matter, and will cost $299.99; while the TiVo Premiere XL will be able to hold 150 hours of HD subject matter, and will set you back $499.99. Currently both units support antenna, digital cable and Verizon FIOS, but unfortunately not AT&T U-Verse or satellite providers, so you’ll certainly want to take that into explanation before making a decision on purchasing either one of these. Both should ship sometime in Q2 of 2010, so stay tuned (pun intended).

EviGroup launched the eviGroup Pad back in October, and now it has come back with an improved version, dubbed the Paddle. Powered a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, the most obvious improvement would be the inclusion of multi-touch, as well as inclusion of a SSD. Aside from that, other features include a new software layer called Scale, which will be running on top of Windows 7 and should help you organize and view your documents much better, as well as an optional Wi-Fi antenna. It should be available around April to June for 699 Euros, and should supply some stiff competition to the Archos 9.

Check out that strange shirt which is capable of detecting a cellphone that rings, making it perfect for settings where you put the phone on silent or vibrating mode, and yet need to attend to the shout urgently. Operas would be a good example as there is nothing quite like the din of a ringtone to spoil the current performance. that cellphone detecting AwareFashion shirt by Richard Etter comes with a pocket, an antenna, a small circuit board, button cells and fiber optics that will sense all switched on phones in the vicinity. It will glow unobtrusively whenever it detects a phone nearby, where you can choose from glowing green, red, yellow, white or blue colors. Perfect for opera houses to pick out culprits who fail to turn off their handset.

HTC’s latest Android-powered handset, the HTC Legend, has just received the nod of approval from HTC, which means we ought to be able to see that smartphone reach at the market in a matter of weeks. Apparently, the lower back segment of the Legend that doubles up as an antenna cover is able to come off easily, letting you access the SIM card in a jiffy alongside its memory card and humongous battery. Apart from that, we don’t have further details on what the HTC Legend offers, so stay tuned as news develops.
