Sprint’s Overdrive Ad Makes Fun Of AT&T
March 20, 2010
Sprint’s Overdrive probably isn’t what you think of when you build out the term “iPhone 4G”, but check out the video (in the full post), and you’ll see what we mean. It seems that Verizon Wireless isn’t the only carrier out there to construct AT&T the butt of its advertising jokes. According to the advert, the iPhone is a cool phone just that it’s held back by AT&T’s poor connection. With Sprint’s Overdrive, you’ll get your own personal Wi-Fi Hotspot, which should offer a faster connection speed. Even whether you don’t own an iPhone, it’s still a funny ad, worth a watch.
Check out our Sprint Overdrive review.

T-Mobile To Partner With Clearwire For WiMAX?
March 19, 2010

T-Mobile isn’t enjoying the duration of its life at the moment, since it’s currently facing an uphill battle against Verizon Wireless and AT&T. In order to keep up, the carrier certainly needs to look into getting some high speed notes on its network. With that in mind, reports indicate that the carrier is mulling the possibility of a joint venture with Clearwire for its WiMAX infrastructure. It’s certainly interesting to note that Sprint happens to control more than 50 percent of Clearwire, but it doesn’t seem that T-Mobile is considering a merger with Sprint. Do you think a WiMAX network would help improve your perception of T-Mobile?

Color E-ink Display Pictured
March 19, 2010

Have we moved one step closer to color eBook readers? PVI, the company who makes the e-ink displays for Amazon’s Kindle, is now showing off its 6-inch and 9.7-inch color e-ink displays for eBook readers at a trade show in Shenzhen, China. The displays on demo are able to handle animated color clips, albeit the refresh rate of the display was far from good decent to handle video. PVI has already shown the screens to Amazon and Barnes & Noble, though there wasn’t any confirmation as to whether it will be used for future eBook readers. These color screens obviously consume more energy than the monochrome e-ink displays, but it’s still less than the energy consumption of LCD panels. PVI is predicting mass production of these displays to start in Q4 of 2010. Will the next generation of eBook readers sport color e-ink displays?

Day & Night Watches offer variety
March 19, 2010

They say that variety is the spice of life, and you can't really go wrong with the Day & Night watches by Genesis. These timepieces are meant to be worn at different times of the day, where the white one is when the world wakes up, while the black model would suit you best on a night out at the clubs. What makes them interesting would be the rare bracelet design that is definitely a conversation starter - would have loved to see the manufacturers throw in more tech though.

T-Mobile USA To Offer iPhone In Late 2010 Or Early 2011?
March 19, 2010
According to a recent interview, René Obermann, CEO of T-Mobile USA parent company Deutsche Telekom, has mentioned that T-Mobile USA might start offering the iPhone as soon as late 2010, or early 2011. While the carrier’s current focus is obviously on Google’s Android OS, getting the iPhone on its network would be a great move, considering the huge appeal of Apple’s mobile phone. Does that mean that Apple’s exclusivity deal with AT&T is be going down the drain? Are you looking forward to T-Mobile offering the iPhone, or do you think that Android devices are the way to go?

BlackBerry ‘T’ Slider Phone Next Month?
March 18, 2010

Do you think that RIM’s BlackBerry Slider will just be called the 9930, or will it have a name like the other models such as the Storm, Bold, Curve etc? A tidbit of data has just surfaced today, from an interview with the CEO of a RIM parts supplier (Woojeon & Handan). Apparently RIM will be launching a make new BlackBerry “T” phone next month, which is aimed at competing with the iPhone (don’t all the phones already do that?) While it’s not entirely certain what the “T” could stand for, but speculation is that it could indicate the previously hinted codename “Talladega”. Do you have any theories that you think are possible?
