All three screens are fundamental to service providers’ success when it comes to developing new revenue-generating applications and services particularly in the current era of Internet-enabled TVs. With the Motorola M3 Media Server family’s introduction, it aims to deliver solutions which connect folks to personalized composition simply by creating compelling consumer experiences. Reports are coming in that campaigns on the new Apple iAd platform for the iPhone could cost advertisers as much as $1 million. perhaps that high price will limit the ads we are assaulted with.

I mentioned yesterday that Apple had purchased Siri, the personal assistant app firm. The buy could herald new voice-activated search capabilities coming to the iPhone, which would be most welcome.

I’m not certain that is a good thing, but Brighcove has announced a new HTML5 platform that it says will produce iPhone and iPad advertising easy. The ads will presumably be the inline kind with newspapers and magazines.

Pioneer has added a couple new receivers for home theater fans that support the iPhone. The new receivers include the VSX-1020-K and the VSX-1120-K and both are “Works with iPhone” certified.

If you were planning on popping a lot of location-based ads into your upcoming killer iPhone app, you might want take a peek at the latest update from Apple for developers. A rather stern note on the site reads: “whether your app uses location-based knowledge primarily to enable mobile advertisers to deliver targeted ads based on a user’s location, your app will be returned to you by the App Store Review Team for modification before it can be posted to the App Store.” Is Apple doing that to prevent abuse from advertisers, so that users won’t end up with advertisements from stores all around them? There isn’t any real explanation as to why that isn’t allowed, but it’s certainly worth taking note whether you’re building an app with the intention of putting advertisements in. After all, you wouldn’t want to spend your precious moment building an app only to find out that it will be rejected by Apple, right?

Everybody pays close attention to the patents that Apple files from date to day, and its latest one, regarding proximity-based ads, is certainly one that catches the eye. The patent is generally about allowing users to add contacts as icons on the home screen, but it goes on to elaborate a design where business could contact humans based on their proximity, so whether you’re near a coffee joint, you could opt to receive contact knowledge, address and current offers whenever you’re near that shop. Such communication could be established via any wired or wireless communications, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and even GPS. Of course, that could lead to a potential barrage of offers whether you decide to subscribe to many shops, and go take a walk in your local mall or something. It’s certainly something interesting though, and we’ll keep an eye on that, and see what Apple comes up with.

Here’s a really interesting patent application from Google. Basically it’s a method that will magically detect billboard in Streetview and will replace those billboards in real day with Google’s own dynamically-generated ads. Getting the patent set in stone doesn’t mean that we’ll see such an implementation anytime soon, but it’s certainly great to see that Google is thinking of that kind of innovative things. Of course, it would probably need the permission of the billboard owners or something, whether not, you can be prepared for some length and ugly legal disputes.

Now here’s something you don’t see every day, a mobile phone that doubles as a shaving razor. Convergent devices are the rage nowadays, but that is probably taking things a little far, don’t you think? Dubbed, the Shave Mobile, the ads even seem to feature David Beckham, though that’s most likely a Photoshop. It does assemble you wonder what kind of sales figures the Shave Mobile will be able to get in China.

To be honest, that constant mudslinging within AT&T and Verizon is getting really old. After a lawsuit, peace treaty, and more ads, AT&T has hit back again with another ad featuring Luke Wilson. that instance the ad focuses on the speed of AT&T’s network by Verizon. perhaps carriers should spend that money that they’re using on these adverts and beef up the quality of their networks instead. What do you think?

When O2’s UK exclusive iPhone deal ran out, it seems like it did a nice favor to the iPhone’s sales, now it seems that the same thing could happen in the US. AT&T’s exclusive iPhone deal will run out in 2010, and whether that isn’t extended, other carriers will be free to work out deals with Apple. Word on the street is that Apple wants to move away from exclusivity, and T-Mobile seems to be the leading candidate at the moment, particularly since Verizon has posted some rather uncomplimentary ads regarding the iPhone.

With the iPhone launched in Korea, KT will certainly want to promote the phone heavily in order to get the ball running. We’ve managed to dig up some of the advertisements here (in Korea), so do check them out. In case you were wondering, the iPhone that’s launched in Korea will sport copy and paste, so the folks by there won’t have to survive without it, unlike us who had to wait a distant instance for it.
