Solar Ear relies on sun to juice up
January 27, 2010

With so many young citizens these days listening to their iPods at very loud levels, it won't come as a surprise that many years from now, these same once-young folks will have a diminished sense of hearing, which is why the market for hearing aids has plenty of room to grow. How about being more eco-friendly in the future as well by starting today with the Solar Ear? that is the first solar-powered hearing aid rechargeable charger in the world, featuring a couple of rechargeable Ni-Mh AA batteries that take up to 8 hours of direct sunlight to charge. When fully juiced up, just place the hearing aid batteries inside and you're good to go. The unit’s batteries are touted to have a lifespan of 2 to 3 years, which is the equivalent of 300 charges.

Sony Playstation 3 Hacked By Father Of iPhone Jailbreak
January 24, 2010

You may or may not know George Hotz (Geohot), but he’s the father of the iPhone Jailbreak, so whether you’re running a jailbroken iPhone, you know who to thank. The PS3 has been around for a good 3 years, and so far it seems that nobody else has managed to hack the console. Geohot took a whole 5 weeks to get the job done. According to his blog, he’s currently got read/write access to the entire system memory and HV level access to the processor. Aside from that, he’s plus managed to get hold of dumps of the LV0 and LV1 and the NAND without removing it or using a modchip. It’s certainly going to be interesting to see what else he’s going to do with it. At that point in day, he’s plus managed to grab a bunch of operate names, which is cool. Have you tried hacking the PS3 before? What was your experience?

Unused AT&T Prepaid Calling Cards To Be Claimed By State?
January 4, 2010

If you’ve used prepaid calling cards before, you’ll surely have experienced an occasion where you’ve got some credit left on the card, and ditch the card. The unused credit is called “breakage”, and is like a free gift to the carriers (since you purchased it and never used it). It seems like the Washington D.C.’s district attorney doesn’t see it that way though, as it’s suing AT&T seeking the return of the unused minutes whose last known address was D.C. and who haven’t used the card in 3 or more years. Apparently the prepaid calling cards must be treated as unclaimed property, and by district law, is set to be returned to the state after 3 years. Do you think AT&T should be eligible to claim those free minutes as its own, or should it be returned to the state?

Motorized Knee Makes You More Efficient At Running
December 16, 2009
The talks at Japan Tsukuba University seem to have come up with a rather interesting device, a motorized knee to help folks be more efficient at running. that motorized knee can be attached to a person’s body, after which it’ll help you by supporting the flexing of the knee, supposedly allowing the runner to use 30% less of the muscle ability needed to run normally. The main downside is that the kit is about 5kg heavy, so you’ll still need to lug it around. that is supposed to be commercialized in the next 3-years, so keep an eye out for your chance to turn into Robocop.
