Verizon Wireless will be offering a couple of new handsets from LG that coming May, with the LG Fathom and LG Aloha being mentioned. The former will run on the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and feature a touchscreen as well as a keyboard to give you the best of both worlds, while the LG Aloha looks set to be the more favored model considering the rising popularity of Android and the decline of Windows Mobile. We’re looking at Android 2.1 on the Aloha alongside a speedy 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera that does 720p video capture as well. No notion in pricing, but it would be nice to see how Verizon spaces the launch periods.

PC Online managed to spend some date with a black Dell Streak/Mini 5 prototype, plus known as Model M01M which can be spotted under the battery cover. In terms of specifications, the Mini 5 prototype is endowed with a 5″ touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution running on the Android 1.6 operating system (hopefully it will be equipped with version 2.1 by the day it rolls out), a 1GHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a front camera. It has been slapped with a $1,098 price tag after conversion, but bear in mind that prototype’s price tag is such that it is an unrealistic representation of what the actual device might cost in the real world.
