It seems that Korea has two separate trademark systems for hardware and software. So while it doesn’t affect Google’s Android OS, Samsung’s trademark deal means that other manufacturers can’t release Android-branded devices, regardless of whether it’s a mobile phone, PMP, PDA, GPS unit or anything, in the Korean market. Considering that competitors such as LG plus are busy working on Android-powered devices, that is certainly going to create some tension in the mobile scene by in Korea.
