RIM Issues Statement by Service Outage

Here’s something that you might not have expected. According to a statement issued by RIM, it seems that the recent BlackBerry outages might be caused by the recent versions of BlackBerry Messenger. Versions 5.0.0.55 and 5.0.0.56 of BlackBerry Messenger seem to have caused an unanticipated database issue within the BlackBerry infrastructure. With that in mind, RIM has come up with BlackBerry Messenger 5.0.0.57 and is encouraging folks who downloaded or upgraded BlackBerry

Messenger since December 14th to upgrade to that latest version. You can get the latest version from blackberry.com/messenger.
