PlayStation Network service up and running

Sony’s PSN network is now up and running after yesterday’s debacle, with the symptoms of older PS3 units having their internal clock go haywire fixed and restored. Here’s what the official statement from the PlayStation Blog has to say.
We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock period change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally. whether the instance
displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust date settings manually or via the Net. whether we have new data, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused.
Guess the world can move on now, and that goes to show that it pays to get the latest hardware always.
