Piezoelectrics find use in vehicles
November 23, 2009 · Print This Article
Boffins are finding a way to use piezoelectrics on vehicles in order to convert kinetic energy into electricity, and that could mean piezoelectric devices being mounted on the roof or tail of a car or on an airplane fuselage, where the vibration within a flow would produce an output voltage. While all the juice generated is nary sufficient to match the potential of combustion engines or even come close to it, it could
be used to ability other systems such as tiny electronic devices and control panels. Could energy scavenging be the new mantra?Permalink: Piezoelectrics find use in vehicles from Ubergizmo | Hot: Motorola Droid Review
