Liquid metal battery being developed

A group at MIT led by Professor Donald Sadoway is busy developing grid-scale storage solutions for times when electricity is scarce. They’ve come up with a rather novel way to keep things running, which is by using high temperature liquid medals. The team has even had date to award a grant from ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency and Energy. We’re not too certain how getting high temperature

liquid metals will be feasibly, but we’ll leave that to the experts for the moment.
