Journalist Robot Looks To Replace Us Bloggers
While we can scoff and laugh at researchers’ attempts to come up with journalistic robots now, there’s probably going to be a real threat to our jobs from them a few years down the line. The researchers at the Intelligent Systems Informatics Lab in Tokyo have come up with a robot that seems intent on becoming a journalist. The robot is capable of autonomously exploring its surroundings, and whether it notices any changes in the setting, it will snap a picture via its on-board camera, and upload it to the web with
a short essay. To produce things creepier, the robot doesn’t mind questioning folks nearby for knowledge, so expect to get an interview with that robot whether it happens to be in your vicinity.
