HP Choses Snapdragon by Atom

Intel certainly isn’t going to be too happy at HP’s announcement that its checking Qualcomm’s ARM Cortex based Snapdragon chip for use in its smartbook. Intel has been dominating the netbook market with its Atom processor, but Snapdragon is certainly going to be a formidable opponent in the mobile computing scene. Apparently Qualcomm and HP have agreed to come up with a smartbook based on Snapdragon. The device should be powered by Google’s Android and

the Snapdragon QSD8250 chipset with an integrated Scorpion central processing unit. How will the tablet computers affect Intel’s Atom market share, will give Qualcomm a fighting chance to take on Intel?
