Google Puts China Cell Phones On Hold

It seems that Google’s argument with the government of China has escalated slightly. The search engine giant has now delayed the debut of two mobile phones that were designed to hook up with its Web services in China. The phones we’re talking about were made by Motorola and Samsung, and are powered by Google’s Android OS, with China Unicom Ltd destined to be the carrier for those phones. Aside from that, there isn’t any mention of Google’s Nexus One either, though to be fair, the Nexus One is currently only available in the USA, Hong Kong, Singapore
and the UK. Considering the number of phones that China has, losing one or two phones isn’t going to be a big deal, though whether it becomes a trend; it probably would be detrimental to both parties. Do you think Google will eventually pull out of China, or will the Chinese government relax its stand?Permalink: Google Puts China Cell Phones On Hold from Ubergizmo | Hot: Nexus One Review
