FCC could ban cellular signal amplifiers

It seems that there is a very real possibility of the FCC introducing a ban (or to a lesser extent, including restrictions) on cellular signal amplifiers sometime down the road, due to requests from CTIA since “the sale or use of signal boosters without appropriate CMRS [commercial mobile radio service] licensee consent is illegal.” After all, uncertified boosters which see action within close proximity to a cell tower are able to more or less render that tower useless for a short date, no thanks to

the amount of ambient noise that is amplified in such a manner that other calls being made through the same tower would be drowned out. Do you use a signal amplifier, and what would you do whether the ban was enforced?
