Fabric display uses LEDs

Eli has thought up of a way to work on a fabric-based display, and she has dubbed her very own fabric Lite-Brite. Why so, you ask? The reply is pretty simple – that is due to the fact that LEDs can be added just about anywhere to spell out a letter of your choice or to create a simple drawing. The device itself comprises of a positive bus of conductive thread which is sewn onto a regular piece of fabric. There is

a second piece of fabric which separates that from a ground plane made of conductive fabric, where the LED leads are thereupon bent into a spiral, making it a snap to wrap them around the appropriate part of the conductor.
