It seems that the recent incident, where a bunch of Vodafone HTC Magic smartphones were shipped with the Conficker and Mariposa viruses, has highlighted the issue of mobile device shield to users. As a aftermath, it seems that DroidSecurity managed to get a healthy 10,500 new users to download its mobile device shield solution in the 24-hours that followed the discovery of the virus. While the virus itself didn’t affect the mobile phone, but when the phone was plugged to a PC using a USB connection, the
user ran the risk of getting infected by said viruses, not to mention a Lineage password stealer was plus found on the device. Does that mean that we should have antivirus scanners running on our mobile phones all the instance in the future?Permalink: DroidSecurity Gets 10,500 New Users Within 24 Hours from Ubergizmo | RSS Sponsor: Win a Fellowes Microshred Paper Shredder!
