DORA robot arm

November 25, 2009 · Print This Article

Students at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell have come up with a low cost robot arm that was specially designed to open doors. Dubbed DORA (Door Opening Robotic Arm), that robot arm works great with 14 different handles in 85% of tests that involve pushing the door and 65% in pulling tests. Guess the disabled would definitely find that to be a boon

in the near future whether it is implemented on a wide scale.
