Acer to roll out app store and ebook reader that year

2010 looks set to be a watershed year for Acer as the Taiwanese computer vendor has trumpeted its plans to open up an online applications store as well as selling its first electronic book reader by the middle of that year. The former will offer hundreds of applications to get you started, while the latter will be powered by Google’s Chrome operating system where it is being prepared for a release in Q3 2010. that e-book reader of theirs will come with a 6″ monochrome display and will debut in up to 5 European countries at first, entering a market that
sees Amazon’s Kindle top the market at the moment, with the Nook and Sony Reader jostling for scraps under Amazon’s table.
