Nokia Alvin approved by the FCC

August 31, 2009

Nokia Alvin approved by the FCC

While we were looking at the Nokia N900 video ad, the FCC has approved the Nokia Alvin, a mysterious handset represented by the silhouette above. Here's what's known about Alvin:

  • 32MB of internal storage
  • WCDMA 900/1900/2100Mhz
  • Bluetooth
  • WiFi
  • BL-5J batteries

With that much storage, it has to be a multimedia phone of some sort. And given how expanded it is, it might have a big, wide, display... we're just guessing.

Game Gun: fun, but will get you killed in Quake

August 31, 2009

Look at that video of the Game Gun. The concept is simple: stuck a display on a "gun" and use a motion sensor and voila, you get pseudo realistic action. I kind of like the concept, and may be that would be great for Point Blank (hum... may be not), but I know for a fact that you will get slammed at Quake or any of these First Person Shooter (FPS) designed for the mouse+keyboard. Still, there must be a good game out there for it... ideas anyone?

Dell Mini 3 versus iPhone photo

Dell Mini 3 versus iPhone photo

You saw it coming and you've seen the Dell mini 3 specifications already, but that's the first instance that we see a good front facing picture of the Dell Mini 3 next to an iPhone. We can't say that Dell did a good job on maximizing the screen size or reducing the bezel thickness, and from what we can tell, the designers did not take the best attributes of the iPhone and the Palm Pre. Some graphic work would plus be needed on the set of icons that assemble it look like a knock off… [via Sina]
